On the last night of our road trip, we spent the night with my cousin in Toledo, who took us to Registry Bistro; they feature βSouthern low countryβ food (as opposed to Cajun & Creole cooking from New Orleans). The hush puppies were a great appetizer, my husband had a wonderful steak, & the dessert sampler really showed off their talent with Southern-inspired desserts. But the most inspired dish of all (& possibly the best from our 2-week tour from Boston to the Midwest) was their βMontauk clam bake pot pie,β which took ingredients from a crawfish boil (including crawfish, smoked sausage, & grilled baby corn) & served it like Paul Bocuseβs famous βSoupe V.G.E.β (a fancy soup with truffles & foie gras served under a dome of puff pastry), under a crust adorned with a crawfish. Iβm not sure if Monsieur Paul would have been impressed, but I sure was. It was delicious. π¦

Was in Toledo to see family for the first time and to welcome us, they brought us to RB, which they call the most interesting restaurant in all of Toledo. I've never been to the city and this restaurant was to set the culinary tone for the entire city. We walked in the middle of one of it's famous Cocktail Workshop and fitting, because the cocktails were amazing. I appreciated the fact that this establishment is women-owned and managed. We probably visited on a wrong day (Thursday), but the service was incredibly slow. Our server was a kind and polite as they come but god, food took forever to find it's way out. The food was undoubtedly delicious but if I'm honest, I'm not entirely sure it was worth the price. My prime rib was $48 and it was puny with a "bone marrow" potato, which was cool, but a little tiny. I will say the Clam Pot Pie (not pictured) was outstanding in it's presentation, but it's still a considerably small portion.

Had a 6pm reservation but decided to hit up happy hour first. We ended up eating at the bar. The food was BEYOND INCREDIBLE. The steak skewers were out of this world. Best ever. Perfectly seasoned. My husband had 2 orders of the fejoiada and could have eaten another. Just might have to go back tonight.

Creative cocktails, amazing food (including awesome gluten free and vegan choices), great service. We started with the smoked walleye and pop-overs. The bucatini carbonara is one of the best pasta dishes I have had outside of Italy. Rotisserie chicken was on target. The vegan raspberry and white chocolate tart was a surprise. Wow!

Awesome dining experience. High quality food and cooked to perfection. Major highlight was the smoked walleye dip with GF popovers! Ribeye Loin was great. Also enjoyed the Cornish Hen. Macarons were perfect
